Sunny day with a nice fresh wind. In ’bout 3 hours will be weekend. This friday’s groove has a medium relaxed tempo, and an unisono
Worked on some ‘unisono’ between snare and bass drum, on a funk/rock groove
Some grooves i’m working on.
First is a simple, powerful funk-rock
Second is focused on the pressed roll played by the left hand
Playing an 8 notes clave pattern in a 9/8 time. The pattern shifts from 8th note to 8th note, until come back to the start. Something like the circle of life.

Rained all day, here in Rome. Rain means traffic jam, people screaming and everything complicated. Here’s the groove for a day like this.
Few bars dedicated to some friend leaving for a new life in braZil. Not perfect but smiling.
Be happy guys:)
A groove to work on. It’s a 5/4 two bars almost basic rythm, focused on the tuplet of the second bar. Good for practicing how to ’stretch’ the time, that is a funky, heavy groove, with a single tuplet. Look at the hi-hat: cymbals slightly open, a strong rock accent accent on the downbeat .

Last, and audio: is not the groove written down in the sheet, but the feel is similar (hi-hat e.g.)
Following the “you can practice (almost) everywhere” rule, i’ve found a nice place in a Rome’s park and start practicing for a while. Great with wind blowing, birds singing, child playing and, well, cars and motorbikes running on the road not so far.
